Welcome to the Normal Township Highway Office. Led by Highway Commissioner Arin Rader, our department is responsible for the construction, maintenance, and safety of all township roads falling outside the Town of Normal limits. We are committed to ensuring our infrastructure meets the needs of our community through proactive repairs and seasonal maintenance.
Core Responsibilities
- Road Maintenance & Construction: We manage the paving, sealing, and structural integrity of township roadways. This includes annual projects such as cover sealing and hot-mix resurfacing to extend the lifespan of our local routes.
- Snow & Ice Removal: Our crews provide essential winter services, clearing snow and ice to keep roads passable and safe during hazardous weather.
- Right-of-Way Management: We handle ditch cleaning (such as recent projects on Raab Road) and general clean-up to ensure proper drainage and road visibility.
- Repair Services: From pothole patching to major rehabilitation, we address road repairs as needed based on available funding.
